PRAGUE 2025

I spent a day in Prague in early March 2025, barely scratching the surface of this breathtaking city. I was mesmerized by the Astronomical Clock, a 600-year-old marvel displaying multiple time systems and celestial movements. Nearby, I stood before the infamous windows of the 1483 Defenestration of Prague, a violent chapter in Bohemian history. Trams snaked through cobbled streets past Gothic, Baroque, and Byzantine architecture. I even spotted a Trabant, the infamous East German car, parked up on the cobbles beside various old Skodas and the odd modern Porsche, a nice metaphor for the changing fortunes of this historic city. From its medieval past to Soviet-era relics, Prague is a fusion of East and West—one I need to revisit.
